We have tonnes of iodine here in Australian sea salt. Tonnes of the stuff. For whatever reason has a massive iodine content compared to Celtic or that Pink Himalayan stuff that by all accounts has almost none, despite everyone paying heaps for it.

Ah- One of the first things edited out of this post for the sake of brevity was the subject of iodised salt and you're about to find out why... Thanks for bringing it up.

When I became serious about supplementing iodine (c.10yrs ago) I read a book called 'Iodine Crisis; What You Don't Know about Iodine can Wreck Your Life' by Lynne Farrow. It's an easy read and an excellent introduction and guide (though not exhaustive).

I edit-quote her here;

"We have an iodine crisis in good part because of iodized salt. The government recommendation (RDA) states that an adequate amount of iodine can be consumed from less than the 250mcg supposedly contained in a half teaspoon of iodized salt, but bromide pollution purges iodine. Also, salt is sodium chloride- chloride has the ability to cancel out at least some of the benefit of iodide.

The average gram of iodized salt is thought to contain 0.075 mcg, a measurement is taken at the factory. By the time the salt reaches the grocery store half of the iodine in the sealed

container has sublimed (vaporised). Once opened, more iodine escapes. The longer it is kept, the less iodine remains- it is unstable.

Dasgupta et al. report it takes between 20 and 40 days for an opened container of iodized salt to lose half of its iodine.

The actual consumption of iodine through salt is theoretical with too many variables: was the salt warehoused? Is the climate damp or warm? How long has it been in your cupboard subliming?

In the US, [meaning the Five Eyes countries] iodizing salt was meant to prevent goiter but nothing else. “Goiter Standard” does not reflect the needs of the other organs. The salt is iodized with potassium iodide which may be helpful to the thyroid, but reproductive organs need iodine as well as iodide.

The Goiter Standard of iodine provides a low bar for the government to set when iodine helps prevent so many other illnesses."

Lynne finishes her iodised salt chapter with this slightly funny caution; "Processed salts often come with controversial aluminum anti-caking chemicals. I wouldn’t take aluminum-laced processed salt products unless I had a lot of cash socked away for future Alzheimer’s care."

A fair caution too- my parents used it and the last sentence certainly applies. (Though one can reverse it if one isn't too compromised by various circumstances.)

Celtic salt is supposed to be clean, unprocessed and contains necessary minerals. Himalayan is mineral-rich but also supposedly contains possible residue from 'explosive' harvesting.

In Oz, Pink Lake salt with kelp was nice but in seeking a link it says the rains have made harvesting impossible for the rest of 2023. What's more, the salt-kelp page has been 404'd! Harsh.

Anyone still wondering why the subject was edited out, it can be taken so much further, with studies proving iodised salt in goiter-belts like Hunan, China, cause (hyper)thyroid nodules often leading to cancer... so the WHO recommend no more than a teaspoon a day- which leads to other health problems because the body needs salt- it is electric and cells require it.

In this study- the first that came up- the discussion at the end is interesting esp. regarding married couples, but the bottom line is, iodised salt is questionable at very best.

Cheerio!

Noting this article has extra importance, I had an instant thought to the color of iodine and the natural prevalence in herbs like turmeric, which have been described to have a chelating effect- which could be simply misunderstanding the abilities of iodine for removing the more toxic flourine , chlorine and bromine by being able to hold and preserve larger amounts of potassium as compared to the sodium connections of the other three.

Interesting.

To add to this; when beginning the 2007 iodine protocol there was a strict adherence to what was called 'salt loading', which attracts/collects the other (loosened) halogens and moves them out of the body safely. Without salt loading the kidneys can get really junked up. This is a vital part of the protocol.

The other thing was adopting the daily habit of apple cider vinegar- potassium heaven.

As an overview, it involves certain ATP co-factors (supplements like selenium, magnesium, B6 or B3 methylation issues depending, salt-loading, etc.) to open and support detoxification pathways.

Thyroidblog.com and Stop the Thyroid Madness would have more detailed overviews and so would Lynne Farrow.

I learned from some VERY strict older women on a Facebook group about ten years ago. Turns out I had a few non-typical issues. If you can find a serious and experienced online support group that is the ideal.

Their strictness and adherence to the 2007 protocol made all the difference. Dosing "Low and Slow" was an imperative; anyone who went high-dose got kicked out of the group and wasn't allowed back in. : ) It's self-sabotage to go high-dose! Nobody knows how they'll react but it usually feels great... until a detox reaction or thyroid condition punches things sideways. Detox can be unexpectedly heavy and even affect the mind/emotions.

The gut is really important too, there is often a gut-thyroid axis issue to treat. Gluten-free at minimum but AIP-/paleo, mediterranean and keto all come up too.

Meditation helps as much as the process itself, but we're on the back foot using that part of the brain, probably the biggest aspect to master in health and longevity.

Early protocols of nebulizing with hydrogen peroxide, salt and water with iodine proved extremely effective at restoring healthy lung function during the 2020-21 illness.

I hypothesized that the creation of sodium bicarbonate from the expelled carbon dioxide mixing with the nebulizing solution, within the lungs benefits from the ozonation effect of mixing hydrogen peroxide with water and the introduction of iodine into that mixture restores the potassium balance . I added some mineral ionic solution as well based on Joseph Mercola’s recommendation for a mineral agent as well when very ill, which has a high magnesium concentration and noticed improved performance.

As a side note I have been inhaling steam from essential oils and water mixed drink as a health practice, some ingredients oils like clove and frankincense , cinnamon are most helpful and since they can cross the blood brain barrier for protection, inhaling with steam has in my opinion helped preserve neurological function when forced to wear mask and test with swabs to access institutions during the mandates in Chinada where we resist this indoctrination.

I am now more curious to do a mineral composition analysis of these essential oils.

I haven't experimented with oils yet beyond the basic lavender, frankincense, olive, tea tree and oregano etc., (castor oil is miraculous externally, 'Palma Christi' or Palm of Christ- what else should one expect haha), but in Oz there was a friend/owner of an organic store who came up with what she called an 'everything bomb'; it was a mix of drops of three or 4 essential oils put in to a capsule which literally killed anything going, and restored health. I wish I could remember, but I know one was Frankincense and one had clove like you said. Perhaps another was high potency oregano. She was neat but they were forced to close their store because they refused to be vaxed.

I used to read old novels from the 1800's where the protagonists would be visited by the local doctor and be made to inhale iodine-steam for lung issues. Amazing when one takes stock of the world today. Truly amazing.

I believe strongly in apple cider vinegar,

I also forgot to point out that drinking some baking soda in water was a treatment for the Spanish flu( pneumonia and see Jessica Rose’s most recent posts) which if you look at scrubbing agents within the enzyme function of digestion and cellular health, the bicarbonate and vinegar acetate are essential to almost all healthy immune functions.

If you follow the belief that Jab injuries are all related to gut health then the baking soda and apple cider vinegar treatments are self explanatory, I become suspicious of individuals who want to sell expensive formula and so called alternative health products when affordable options like acv and baking soda are so universally beneficial and have no possible counter actions for different individuals.

I have also studied the history of iodine research a bit. The iodized salt content was based on an estimated intake of ten grams of salt per day at the time. And that ratio hasn't been changed since that I found. Now salt recommendation is only a few grams.

Salt is not a way to give iodine imo

I remember my parents in the 80's going nuts with salt. My father made one meal; fried mince with peas, and he made it so loaded with (iodised) salt it was often inedible. He couldn't understand the problem, to him it tasted good.

My mother on the other hand wouldn't salt anything for fear of 'hardened arteries'.

Insane times...

Oregano oil is extremely amazing and potent, it was the first one my family was introduced to and the only one they use with Vitamin c. Interesting when you look at the ascorbic acid (vit c ) and it’s natural affinity to bond to potassium and calcium for storage in bone.

I always look for the simplest solution, anyone who obscures things with complexity is more interested in slavery and control than freedom and health.

Funny thing when you said she was neat, I immediately thought of essentially oils that are able to applied in full concentration to the human skin, referred to application as ‘neat’ indicating that you don’t have to mix or dilute to apply.

Yeah that is funny, I hadn't thought of that sort of neat. Especially with the 'potency' thrown in to conversation.

My children now know whether they need a Vit. C or antibiotic, and that garlic will do too, in broth as an antibiotic. Have ya heard of BORON (or borax water) for bone health yet? It does a host of other cool things too. Highly recommended... :)

Yes, boron or borax I have yet to try it though. I saw a good video earlier this year promoting it and suggested that these option could be restricted in future

It may be through Codex Alimentarius. Dodgy, but with luck enough people are starting to realise (post covid) what the WHO, UN, et al. are up to.
